Archie Panjabi's gown at the Vogue Women Of The Year Awards, wasn't just any pretty dress. The cognitive sari gown worn by the hostess was specially created by couturier Gaurav Gupta in association with IBM's Artificial Intelligence platform, Watson. Gupta, who spends his days working on one-of-a-kind cocktail ensembles was thrilled to be involved in the project with IBM.
"When IBM approached with this very exciting collaboration, I thought the project was completely up my alley," said the designer who worked with experts from IBM on integrating lights in the construction of the ensemble. The cognitive sari gown lights up in different colours and patterns based on the personality of the person interacting with the wearer of the gown. As the designer put it emphatically, "That is magic."
